I have to say this week has been a
marathon. Having engaged myself in 5 college-credited classes is slowly
starting to seem a little daunting. It is truly my goal to finish the
Multimedia Apps and Tools course with some level of knowledge on how to navigate
the media outlets available on the World Wide Web. At the start of this week I
could not define what Multimedia even was, but since I now have somewhat of a
working definition, I guess I have already begun to learn something in this
class. However, I am extremely nervous about the next 14 weeks. Since this is
the first online class I have ever taken, I am struggling to find a comfortable
rhythm to the course and the assigned work. In truth, I'm finding it hard to
even remember to check the assignments list in a timely fashion, not as an
after thought on Monday night a few hours before it is due! Being somewhat
challenged, technologically speaking, the concept of blogging is even a hard
task for me. I think the process of becoming knowledgeable in Multimedia will
be a painful one for me. Being the first week of class, much of the assignments
were introductions and the nuts and bolts aspect of the course and even this I
struggled in. I am hoping that from reading the articles posted and now being
able to define Multimedia will help me in the weeks to come. Above all I need
to work on my time management skills and find a way to integrate this class
comfortable into my workweek.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post. This really hit home for me. I am also struggling with online classes as well. This semester I am enrolled in 3 classes, and the thought that I originally wanted to do 5 is now a crazy idea to me. I also had no idea at all what Multimedia was, and grew up in the 80's and 90's before the world went techno. Most of this is all new to me and nothing works right. So I am hoping to learn as much as possible through this class, while trying to meet blogging and discussion board deadlines also. Good luck to both of us! I know that I am going to need it!!
